Chris Pratt and Pope Leo XIV in documentary “Pétros ení”

Chris Pratt and Pope Leo XIV star in the documentary "Pétros ení – Discovering the Origins," a journey to St. Peter's tomb beneath the Vatican Basilica. Variety has released the trailer exclusively.

Featuring rarely seen footage of the Vatican Necropolis, the film marks the 400th anniversary of the consecration of St. Peter's (November 18, 1626). The Pope appears in the final scenes to reflect on Peter and the meaning of his tomb. The title comes from a Greek inscription meaning "Peter is here."

Directed by Paula Ortiz and written by Andrea Tornielli, the film is produced by AF Films with Vatican Media and the Fabric of St. Peter. It previewed today at the Rome Film Festival and, according to the official website, reaches cinemas in February 2027. #LeoXIV #Vatican #ChrisPratt #PetrosEni
