Pope Leo XIV phones Zelensky: humanitarian ceasefire in Oleshky and civilian evacuation

🔴 Pope Leo XIV spoke by telephone today with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine (Holy See Press Office, B0822). He recalled "the grave situation in the city of Oleshky, in the Kherson region," referring to the request for a humanitarian ceasefire already presented to the President of the Russian Federation. He expressed the hope that cooperation between both parties will allow "the delivery of food and medical aid" and "the voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population."
