First working meeting at the Gemelli: the Pope receives Substitute Rudelli
Leo XIV resumes work: audience for Archbishop Paolo Rudelli on the day of the bulletin on his regular recovery

The meeting. As part of his return to work, Leo XIV received Archbishop Paolo Rudelli, Substitute for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, at the Gemelli hospital in the early afternoon today, 15 October. This was reported by Holy See Press Office sources, according to Vatican News and the SIR agency.
The Substitute's role. The Substitute heads the Section for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, which coordinates the daily work serving the Pope and the Roman Curia. It is the first working meeting made public since the start of the hospitalisation.
The day. In the morning the Press Office released the medical bulletin by Dr Luigi Carbone and Prof. Stefano Margaritora: routine checks within normal limits, "good recovery of the operated lung" on the X-ray, daily activities carried out independently and a post-operative course "proceeding regularly". According to the Press Office, the Pope also concelebrated Mass in a room specially set up on the tenth floor of the Gemelli, as he had done yesterday afternoon, and resumed his work.
What we don't know. Neither the topics of the conversation nor a discharge date have been made public.
