The John Paul II Vatican Foundation turns 45
The John Paul II Vatican Foundation turns 45. Established by Saint John Paul II in 1981, it supports scholarships for young people, cultural initiatives, care for pilgrims and the preservation of the legacy of Pope Wojtyła's pontificate. Vatican News reports on the anniversary today.
The jubilee celebrations will be held in Rome from 19 to 22 October, with Masses, a conference, a concert and a private audience with Leo XIV listed in the Foundation's programme. Following the Pope's surgery at Gemelli Hospital, audiences are suspended until 20 October: no change to the meeting has been announced.
