AI: Nvidia's Jensen Huang responds to Leo XIV: «He's asking all the right questions»
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has responded to Pope Leo XIV on AI safety. «He's asking all the right questions, and he's thinking about all the right issues», he told Fortune in an interview. «We all care about the same thing, which is an optimistic future where this technology has great positive impact in society while doing it with great responsibility, safety, and accountability».
At a press conference in late September, the Pope said fears about AI's dangers are not «fake news» and voiced scepticism about Nvidia's announced guardrails, noting that Huang has opposed limits and government regulation. Huang said he was «not exactly sure what was intended» and defended the company's work on open-source safety tools, audits and standards, reiterating his preference for responsible development over new regulation.
